Property description

Cortona Cashmere Farm is the perfect base for a family holiday in Tuscany. This small family-run farm is nestled in the hills 12km from Cortona. And it has been set up especially with families in mind. As its Australian owner Margaret says, "there are no priceless antiques or Persian rugs here - just high quality, economical, squeaky clean accommodation."

Margaret lives on the property with her Italian husband and family and is looking forward to passing on her knowledge to help you experience more of the 'real' Italy on your holiday. Cortona Cashmere Farm has 3 apartments, meaning it's great for extended families.

Quercia sleeps eight (750-1100 euro a week) and is farm's biggest and most luxurious apartment. Upstairs, a large double bedroom looks out to the mountains and features a 4-poster bed. The 2nd bedroom has two full size bunk beds. There is a shared bathroom with a shower on this floor.

Downstairs (and there is a safety gate on the stairs) there is another double bedroom with its own entrance and ensuite bathroom, also with a shower. The kitchen/living area opens out onto a pergola with views across the mountains and is perfect for alfresco dining and relaxing.

Larice has a large bedroom with double bed and a child safe bunk bed, suitable for children up to the age of 12. The ensuite bathroom has a large shower. It offers an affordable option for families with smaller children on a budget.

Mora sleeps two (500-600 euro a week) but a cot or small baby bed can be added. It has been lovingly restored with exposed natural stone walls and terracotta flooring. The apartment has a bedroom and bathroom with a shower. The small kitchen opens out onto a veranda, which has a gas barbeque, for alfresco cooking.

All apartments have fully equipped kitchens, with a fridge, microwave and food processor. Mora has a small electric cooker, while the other two have gas cook-tops and full ovens.

Outside, the swimming pool is a perfect place for the family to relax after a hard day's sightseeing. And for extra peace of mind, it has a safety fence (something which is quite rare to find in Italy).

It is these extras that are a feature of Cortona Cashmere Farm, with safety gates and fences throughout the property. Baby beds, baby baths, high chairs, potties, toys, baby monitors and pool equipment freely available.

Outside, there is a communal BBQ area, equipped with a traditional wood pit as well as a gas BBQ and large table and seating area. The property is TV free, but there are DVDS available and free WIFI access.

Cortona Cashmere Farm apartments are available for one week stays during the European high summer period (July/August), with shorter stays possible at other times.

Family Friendly Accommodation likes: Offering classic Tuscan comfort in a picturesque location, where your children can explore and you can relax after the hours spent seeing all the area has to offer.
