On The Beach Holiday Apartments at Trinity Beach is the perfect choice for families looking for a relaxing holiday in the Cairns beaches region with easy access to all attractions this region has to offer.

With plenty of things to do in Cairns, and Port Douglas just a 45 minute drive away, you can easily explore the region before returning to your piece of paradise.

Nestled between two headlands, Trinity Beach is a palm-fringed bay and importantly for families, we are directly opposite the safe, patrolled area, offering year round safe swimming within the flags.

We are also just a short stroll to shops, restaurants and local playground. The local Trinity Beach Tavern looks after families and offers regular 'kids eat free' deals and Saturday 'Kids Night' entertainment.

On the Beach Holiday Apartments offers 24, two and three bedroom apartments, sleeping up to 7 people. The apartments are spread across five individual buildings, each with its own swimming pool, BBQ area and landscaped gardens - creating a great holiday atmosphere without the usual crowded feeling a busy resort can have.

Guests can choose from the less expensive 2-bedroom Garden View apartments, the middle of the range 2-bedroom Ocean View apartments or the affordable 2 and 3-bedroom beachfront apartments - we really do have something for everyone.

All apartments are fully self-contained including large twin rooms, fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, oven and large fridge/freezer), laundry and a bath in the main bathroom. Spacious living areas and balconies complete the perfect family holiday escape.

To help keep your children happy - and make packing that little bit easier for mum - we have beach toys for the young ones, boogie boards and basketballs for older children and beach towel hire.

Free Wi-Fi will also help keep the older ones entertained without breaking the bank.

On a recent holiday to FNQ and the Great Barrier Reef, I took the opportunity to book a few nights at On the Beach Holiday Apartments at Trinity Beach to check out this complex for myself - and check out it did!

On the Beach actually consists of five apartment buildings. We stayed in a two-bedroom beachfront apartment in the Seashells building, which offered undercover parking and lift access.

Our first floor apartment was extremely spacious - you know you are onto a good thing when the kids give their seal of approval after checking everything out.

The full size kitchen allowed for easy self-catering, while the tiled dining/lounge area had plenty of space to spread out. The balcony offered another option for sitting outside, with views out to sea.

The master bedroom was comfortable and nicely furnished, with a wall-mounted TV giving me the opportunity to catch up on the news while the kids were watching the main TV in the lounge room.

Single beds in the second bedroom kept the kids happy, while two bathrooms (the main one also housed the washing machine and dryer) are always welcomed by families.

Each building in the complex has its own swimming pool with lounge chairs and as usual, my kids gave our pool a good work-out.

While Mother Nature was not on our side for our visit, with strong winds whipping up the sea, there is no doubt that Trinity Beach is a bit of a hidden treasure and On the Beach is perfectly located opposite the patrolled beach.

There are plenty of places to eat along the Esplanade, including an Italian cafe/restaurant just metres down the road. But equally, there is a small shopping centre with a supermarket to buy your provisions just a couple of minutes' drive away.
